ESFPDT Moderate rain this weekend in the Washington Cascades and northern Blue Mountains combined with snowmelt from above normal temperatures will lead to river rises this weekend and early next week. Most rivers are currently running at low levels and the increased streamflows will not be a problem. However, the Naches River at Cliffdell and at Naches are expected to rise above Action Stage early Saturday through Monday. The Grande Ronde River at Troy is expected to rise but stay barely below Action Stage Monday through Tuesday morning. Only localized minor flooding is expected. Please monitor the latest river forecasts from the National Weather Service for additional information.

Located just off Highway 204 in the Umatilla National Forest, Woodland Campground provides a convenient and accessible camping option with six campsites suitable for both tents and small RVs. The campground features a mix of shady and sunny sites, making it easy to set up for a single night or extended stay. Campers should note that the campground is located alongside the highway, so some traffic noise should be expected. The campground includes vault toilet facilities but does not provide potable water, so campers must bring their own. Each site accommodates up to two vehicles, with an additional fee charged for extra vehicles. With light usage levels and easy access, Woodland offers a straightforward camping experience without extensive amenities. Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate the direct access to hiking opportunities. The Eagle Ridge Trail begins right at the campground entrance, and the area provides access to numerous trails within the North Fork Umatilla Wilderness. The campground sits at approximately 23 miles east of Weston or 18 miles northwest of Elgin, making it accessible from either direction along Highway 204.
