About
Situated at the confluence of the North and South Forks of the Umatilla River, Umatilla Forks Campground offers a secluded camping experience within the Umatilla National Forest. The 8 tent-only sites are spread across two loops, nestled among a mix of conifers and deciduous trees with heavy vegetation providing excellent privacy between sites. The campground serves as a popular staging area for hikers entering the North Fork Umatilla Wilderness and anglers pursuing catch-and-release fishing in the river forks. Facilities include vault toilets, potable water from a single spigot, fire rings, and picnic tables at each site. All sites are first-come, first-served with no advance reservations. Campers must physically arrive to claim a site and can pay the $10 nightly fee via QR code using the Recreation.gov mobile app if cellular service is available.
