About

Wolf Creek Campground sits along the Snake River Canyon corridor in the Bridger-Teton National Forest, approximately 30 miles southwest of Jackson, Wyoming. As the largest campground in the canyon with 20 sites, it rarely fills even during peak season, making it a reliable option for those arriving later in the day. The campground provides access to the designated Wild and Scenic Snake River, popular with boaters and rafters. River permits are required for groups exceeding 15 people or institutional groups floating between Hoback Junction and Alpine. A food storage order is in effect throughout the area. Vault toilets are available, but potable water is not, so visitors should bring their own water supply. The campground operates first-come, first-served with no advance reservations. After the September 15 seasonal closure, the gate closes but walk-in access remains available at no fee when amenities are disabled.

Directions

From Jackson, Wyoming, head southwest on US Highway 189 for about 13 miles. At the roundabout in Hoback Junction, take the first exit onto US-26 East/US-89 South and continue for 16 miles. Signage for Wolf Creek Campground appears on the right. Total distance: 30 miles, approximately 38 minutes.
