About
Wolf Creek Campground is situated in the scenic Snake River Canyon along Highway 26/89, about 30 miles south of Jackson, Wyoming. As the largest campground in the canyon with 20 sites, it rarely fills and serves as a dependable option for late-day arrivals. The campground offers excellent views of the Snake River Canyon and convenient access to the designated wild and scenic Snake River, making it popular with boaters and anglers. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Sites are equipped with picnic tables and fire pits, and bear-proof food storage boxes are provided on-site due to active wildlife in the area. Vault toilets are available, though the facility uses a hand pump for water rather than pressurized taps. Wolf Creek Campground is located approximately 16 miles past Hoback Junction on Highway 26/89 toward Alpine. The campground serves as a gateway for Snake River floating trips, and river permits are required for groups over 15 or institutional groups floating between Hoback Junction and Alpine. Day hiking opportunities are also available from the nearby Wolf Creek Trailhead.
