About
Lynx Creek Picnic Area is a day-use recreation site situated along the scenic Greys River corridor in the Bridger-Teton National Forest. Located approximately 12 miles from Alpine, Wyoming, the picnic area sits on a bench overlooking the Greys River, offering visitors a peaceful setting for outdoor meals and relaxation. The facility provides private family picnic tables scattered throughout the area and a vault toilet, but no potable water is available on-site. Visitors are required to pack out whatever they pack in, as there are no trash services. The site is accessed via Greys River Road (Forest Service Road 10138), one of the most popular forest roads on the Bridger-Teton. This is strictly a day-use area with no overnight camping permitted. The site operates with services from May 1 through October 1, though year-round access may be available depending on road conditions. No fees are charged for use of the picnic area.
Directions
From Alpine, Wyoming, head east on Greys River Road (Forest Service Road 10138) for approximately 8 miles. Bear right at the junction staying on FS-10138 and continue southeast for an additional 4 miles, then turn right on FS-10029 into Lynx Creek Picnic Area. Approximate travel time from Alpine: 21 minutes.
