About
Station Creek Campground is located in beautiful Snake River Canyon within the Bridger-Teton National Forest, just 27 miles southwest of Jackson, Wyoming. Situated at an elevation of 5,800 feet, the campground sits in a cozy forest of lodgepole pines along the designated Wild and Scenic Snake River. The Snake River can be accessed across the road and down an embankment, with a boat ramp nearby. The campground offers 16 first-come, first-served single sites, with group sites available for reservation. Summer wildflowers are abundant in the area, and the tree cover provides partial shade throughout the campground. Fly-fishing for cutthroat, rainbow, and brown trout is a popular activity on the Snake River, as is whitewater rafting and kayaking. This is a very busy campground during the operating season, so arriving early is recommended to secure a site. The city of Jackson is 25 miles north, offering restaurants, groceries, shops, galleries, and ski resorts with summer activities. Grand Teton National Park is approximately 40 miles north, providing opportunities for boating, fishing, hiking, canoeing, and outstanding mountain scenery.
Directions
From Jackson, travel south on Highway 191/89/26 for about 13 miles to Hoback Junction. Turn right onto Highway 26/89 and continue along the Snake River Canyon for 13 miles. The campground is on the left side of the road.
