About

Alpine North Loop Campground is situated in the Caribou-Targhee National Forest at 5,640 feet elevation in Star Valley, Wyoming. The campground occupies a relatively flat area within a lodgepole pine forest that provides partial shade, with some sites offering views across Star Valley. The town of Alpine is just 2 miles east, providing convenient access to supplies and services. Palisades Reservoir is nearby, offering excellent boating, water skiing, swimming, and fishing. Anglers target wild and stocked cutthroat trout, brown trout, Kokanee salmon, and Mackinaw trout from lake and shore. Boat ramps are located 2 miles away in Alpine and about 10 miles away near Blowout Campground off Highway 26. The Grey's River, Salt River, and Snake River converge in the area, providing additional fishing and wildlife viewing. The Palisades Creek Trail begins nearby, leading hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders to Upper Palisades Lake with expansive views of Swan Valley. Jackson, Wyoming is 40 miles north with restaurants, shops, and ski resorts. Grand Teton National Park is approximately 55 miles north. The annual Mountain Days Celebration in Alpine features arts and crafts, live music, and Native American dancers.
