The following message is transmitted on behalf of the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality, Air Quality Division, and the Wyoming Department of Health. * WHAT...Air Quality Alert for Wildfire Smoke. * WHERE...All of Western and Central Wyoming * WHEN...Now through Noon Monday. * IMPACTS...Smoke from western United States wildfires continues to be observed across much of western and central Wyoming. The smoke is limiting visibilities at times. HEALTH INFORMATION...The Wyoming Department of Health recommends that the elderly, young children, and individuals with respiratory problems avoid excessive physical exertion and minimize outdoor activities during this time. Wildfire smoke is made up of a variety of pollutants, including particulate matter and ozone, which can cause respiratory health effects. Although these people are most susceptible to health impacts, the Department of Health also advises that everyone should avoid prolonged exposure to poor air quality conditions. CURRENT CONDITIONS...The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality, Air Quality Division offers near real-time air quality data for Wyoming's monitoring stations and health effects information to help the public interpret current conditions. About

Murphy Creek Campground is a quiet, lightly-used Forest Service campground located along the Greys River Road in the Bridger-Teton National Forest. Situated approximately 14 miles from Alpine, Wyoming, the campground provides access to the Greys River corridor, known for fishing, wildlife viewing, and dispersed recreation opportunities throughout the surrounding national forest lands. The campground offers 10 sites that accommodate trailers up to 30 feet, with one 70-foot pull-through site available. Amenities include vault toilets and drinking water from a hand pump. No hookups, showers, or dump stations are provided. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Campers are limited to a 14-day stay within any 30-day period. The surrounding area offers opportunities for fishing in the Greys River, hiking, and wildlife observation. Food storage requirements are in effect throughout this area of the forest due to bear activity.

Directions

From Alpine, Wyoming, head east on Greys River Road (Forest Service Road 10138) for approximately 8 miles. Bear right at the junction staying on FS-10138 and continue southeast for an additional 5.8 miles, then turn right on FS-10092 into the campground.
