Temperatures will quickly drop below freezing this afternoon and evening. This will lead to any untreated surfaces quickly freezing. Sacttered snow showers could quickly coat roads. Use caution if driving or walking. Increasing winds this afternoon and evening could cause isolated power outages due to lingering ice loading on trees and powerlines. Wind chills below zero tonight will affect anyone still without power or outside.

Wilmington Notch Campground sits in a scenic birch and pine grove at the base of Whiteface Mountain, beside the west branch of the Ausable River. First opened in 1926 with just 12 sites, it has grown to accommodate 54 campsites. The location is ideal for anglers seeking trout fishing in the rapids of the Ausable River and hikers wanting access to the Adirondack High Peaks Wilderness trails. The Sentinel Range Wilderness Area lies to the south, while Wilmington Wild Forest to the north features maintained mountain bike trails. The campground provides hot showers, flush toilets, a trailer dump station, recycling center, and firewood and ice sales. It is centrally located for exploring the region's attractions, including Whiteface Mountain (with gondola rides to the summit), High Falls Gorge one mile away, and Lake Placid's Olympic venues just 8 miles west. The facility includes accessible features and offers both developed camping amenities and proximity to wilderness experiences.
Directions
From I-87 northbound: Exit 30 to Route 73 north to Lake Placid, then Route 86 east 8 miles. Campground on left. From I-87 southbound: Exit 34 to Route 9N south to Jay, then Route 86 south to Wilmington and continue 4 miles west. Campground on right.
