Temperatures will quickly drop below freezing this afternoon and evening. This will lead to any untreated surfaces quickly freezing. Sacttered snow showers could quickly coat roads. Use caution if driving or walking. Increasing winds this afternoon and evening could cause isolated power outages due to lingering ice loading on trees and powerlines. Wind chills below zero tonight will affect anyone still without power or outside.
About
Located just outside the Adirondack Park in Clinton County, Macomb Reservation State Park encompasses 600 acres along the Salmon River's course toward Lake Champlain. The park's campground features 95 wooded sites with both electric and non-electric options, and some sites offer water views of Davis Pond while others are nestled in the trees for greater privacy. The campground includes modern amenities like showers and some sites with both electric and water hookups. The park's wilderness atmosphere is enhanced by its location surrounded by state land. Visitors can explore Davis Pond and the Salmon River using non-motorized boats, fish in both water bodies, and hike the park's trails including a self-guided nature trail. Day-use amenities include playing fields, picnic areas with grills, a swimming beach, and two rental pavilions. During winter months when camping is closed, the park remains open for ice skating, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling on designated trails.
