Willow Campground

Closed — Closed for the winter season. Highway 130 typically closes December through May due to snow. The campground generally opens for the summer season around Memorial Day weekend.

About

Located off the Snowy Range Scenic Byway at 8,600 feet elevation, Willow Campground provides a forested camping experience along Libby Creek in the Medicine Bow National Forest. The campground's 16 sites accommodate trailers under 22 feet and are equipped with picnic tables, fire rings with pedestal grills, and access to vault toilets and trash collection. No hookups are available. Water availability at Willow Campground is seasonal and somewhat limited. A hand-pump is located at site 14 and typically provides potable water from July through September, though dates may vary due to weather, maintenance, and water testing requirements. Campers are encouraged to bring their own water or call ahead to confirm availability. The campground sits next to Libby Creek, which flows down from Libby Lake and offers fishing opportunities. Further along Barber Lake Road, the Barber Lake Picnic Site features a retention pond that is stocked with Rainbow Trout in summer months when precipitation allows. The Corner Mountain Trail system is accessible nearby. The campground operates with a mix of reservation and first-come, first-served sites during the camping season, with a 14-day maximum stay and fees of $10 per night.
