About
Brooklyn Lake Campground offers a secluded mountain retreat in southeastern Wyoming's Snowy Range, situated along a small but scenic 36-acre lake at 10,500 feet elevation. The facility provides 19 campsites, including 5 pull-through sites suitable for trailers and RVs up to 35 feet. Every site features lake views ranging from good to spectacular, with pine forests and grasslands framing the snow-capped Browns Peak in the background.
The campground provides access to excellent outdoor recreation. The calm waters of Brooklyn Lake are ideal for canoeing and kayaking, with carry-down access for hand-powered boats (no motors allowed). Fishing is productive for brook trout. Hikers can access the Sheep Lake Trail and Lost Lake Trail directly from the campground, with the Sheep Lake Trail also open to horseback riders. The high-elevation setting provides a true alpine camping experience.
Due to its elevation and short summer season, the campground operates from mid-July through mid-September. Sites include picnic tables and fire rings, with vault toilets and hand-pump water available. The facility offers a mix of reservable and first-come, first-served sites, making it accessible for both planners and spontaneous adventurers seeking a spectacular mountain camping experience.
