About
Nash Fork Campground is a high-elevation destination at 10,200 feet in Wyoming's Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest, conveniently located along the Snowy Range Scenic Byway (Highway 130). The campground was decommissioned for a decade due to pine beetle infestation but was restored through a partnership with Common Outdoor Ground and Forest Service employees in 2021. While many trees were lost, Nash Fork Creek still meanders through the grounds, creating a scenic alpine setting. The campground underwent accessibility renovations in 2023, adding improved fire ring access, site paths, and ramps for easier grade changes at select sites. All 24 sites include picnic tables, fire rings, and metal barbecue grills. Three vault toilets serve the campground. There is no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply. Fishing opportunities abound with 102 recreational lakes in the area. Brooklyn Lake is accessible via trails from Forest Service Road 317, just 3 miles north. The Libby Flats Observation Area is 4 miles away. Wildlife in the area includes black bear, moose, elk, mule deer, and marmots.
Directions
From Laramie, travel west 25 miles to Centennial on WY 130. Continue west 7.8 miles to Brooklyn Lake Rd/Forest Route 317. Turn right onto FR 317 and go 0.1 miles, then turn left into the campground.
