Spruce Campground sits in the Libby Creek Recreation Area off the Snowy Range Scenic Byway at an elevation of approximately 8,600 feet in Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest. This campground has been officially decommissioned by the U.S. Forest Service and is no longer maintained or operated as a developed camping facility. Despite its decommissioned status, the area remains accessible and provides fishing opportunities along Libby Creek. The location is near the Forest Road 351 (Barber Lake Road) junction, approximately 1 mile west of the forest boundary near Centennial, Wyoming. Visitors seeking developed camping in the Libby Creek Recreation Area should consider nearby Willow Campground, which remains operational with 16 campsites, vault toilets, and seasonal amenities.

Directions

From Laramie, take WY 130 west to the Forest Boundary near Centennial, then travel 1 mile west to the Libby Creek Recreation Area on the south side of Snowy Range Highway. Spruce Campground is on the left, beyond Forest Road 351 (Barber Lake Road).
