About

William Kent Campground is a popular USFS facility situated on the west shore of Lake Tahoe within the Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit. The campground offers more than 80 sites spread across terrain featuring shallow gullies and low ridges that help provide separation between sites. Tall pine, cedar, and fir trees shade the area, and many sites are further secluded by evergreen shrubs. Amenities include flush toilets, drinking water, picnic tables, fire rings with grills, and food storage at each site. Yurts provide cabin-like accommodations for groups of up to six. The campground accommodates RVs up to 40 feet, though trailer and fifth-wheel length is limited to 28 feet. All sites are back-in with paved driveways. Lake Tahoe offers swimming, boating, water skiing, and fishing for kokanee salmon, mackinaw, and rainbow and brown trout. Bike trails traversing the western shore begin near the campground, and Tahoe City is less than 5 miles away.
