About

Silver Creek Campground is nestled along the scenic Truckee River in Tahoe National Forest, approximately 6 miles south of Truckee and minutes from Lake Tahoe and Olympic Valley. The campground sits in a lodgepole pine and fir forest, with several sites offering direct views of the river. Seven walk-in sites are designated tent-only and overlook the Truckee River, while remaining sites accommodate vehicles up to 24 feet. Fly-fishing for rainbow trout in the Truckee River is a primary draw, along with swimming and tubing in summer months. The surrounding area provides access to the Western States Trail, Five Lakes Trail, and Pacific Crest Trail. Lake Tahoe, Prosser Reservoir, Boca Reservoir, and Stampede Reservoir are all nearby for additional recreation. Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table, fire ring with grill, and bear-proof food storage box. Accessible vault toilets and drinking water are provided throughout the campground. Most roads are paved. Highway 89 road noise is audible from some sites. Quiet hours are 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
