About
Goose Meadows Campground is located along the Truckee River adjacent to Highway 89 in Tahoe National Forest, roughly halfway between Tahoe City and Truckee. The 24 single-family campsites are nestled in a scenic forest of lodgepole pine and fir trees, with most sites forested and shaded. Each site includes a picnic table, campfire ring with grill, and bear box for mandatory food storage. The campground offers vault toilets and drinking water from faucets. Firewood is available at the host site. All sites are nonelectric with no hookups. Limited turnaround space restricts RVs to 30 feet or less. Highway 89 road noise is audible from the campground. Fly-fishing for rainbow trout in the Truckee River is a primary draw, along with swimming and tubing. The surrounding area provides access to hiking and biking trails including the Western States Trail, Five Lakes Trail, and Pacific Crest Trail. Lake Tahoe is 30 minutes south, and Truckee is 10 minutes north with full amenities.
Directions
From Truckee, drive 4-5 miles south on Highway 89 to the campground on the right.
