About
Wilderness Road Campground is nestled in the lush forests of the Appalachian Mountains within Cumberland Gap National Historical Park, at the historic crossroads where Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia meet. The 151 wooded sites accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs up to 50 feet, with 43 sites in loops B and C offering 20-, 30-, or 50-amp electrical hookups on asphalt pads. Every site includes a picnic table and fire ring, and campers have access to comfort stations with flush toilets and hot showers. The campground provides direct access to over 85 miles of trails, including routes to White Rocks, Sand Cave, Skylight Cave, and the historic Hensley Settlement. Drive to the Pinnacle Overlook for panoramic mountain views, explore Civil War earthworks, or stand in three states at once at the Cumberland Gap. Guided tours of Gap Cave and Hensley Settlement are available seasonally for a fee. The seasonal camp store (Cumberland Outpost) sells firewood, drinks, and souvenirs. A dump station and water fill station are located near the entrance for reservation holders. Bears are active in the park; food must be stored in vehicles. Firewood must be purchased locally or gathered on-site (down and dead wood only) to prevent the spread of invasive beetles.
Directions
