About

Norris Dam State Park Campground sits on more than 4,000 acres along the scenic Norris Reservoir in Campbell County, Tennessee. The park offers two distinct campgrounds serving different camping preferences. The West Campground features 50 sites with water and electric hookups, including three paved accessible sites. The East Campground, located near the historic district established by the Tennessee Valley Authority in the late 1930s, provides 25 sites with water and electric hookups and 10 primitive tent-only sites in a shaded forested area. Both campgrounds include modern amenities with centrally-located bathhouses offering hot showers year-round and dump stations. All campsites come equipped with a table, grill, and fire pit. The park also offers three backcountry campsites for more adventurous campers, including sites overlooking Norris Lake along the Lakeview Trail and atop Andrews Ridge. With over 800 miles of shoreline, the reservoir provides excellent opportunities for recreational boating, skiing, and fishing. A fully equipped marina with boat ramps serves the general public, with houseboats and pontoon boats available for rent.

Directions

West Campground: From I-75 take Exit 128 (Rocky Top) and turn left onto US-441 S (Hwy. 61) for 2.8 miles until you see the stone entrance sign for Norris Dam State Park and turn left. Follow the signs to the campground, which will have you take your first left at the yellow gates. Follow the road for one mile to the west campground. East Campground: From I-75 take Exit 128 (Rocky Top) and turn left onto US-441 S (Hwy. 61) for 3.7 miles, passing the west park entrance and Norris Dam Marina. After crossing Norris Dam, take the second left at the stone entrance sign for Norris Dam State Park. Follow the narrow road and turn right after Shelter #2 and follow the signs to the east campground.
