About
Established in the late 1930s by the Tennessee Valley Authority, Norris Dam State Park offers camping along the scenic shores of Norris Lake in Campbell County. The park features two developed campgrounds with sites nestled in mostly shaded forested areas. West Campground contains 50 sites with water and electric hookups and can accommodate RVs up to 60 feet. East Campground has 25 RV sites with hookups accommodating units up to 56 feet, plus 10 primitive tent-only sites without utilities. Each campsite comes equipped with a picnic table, grill, and fire pit. Both campgrounds have centrally located bathhouses with hot showers and dump stations. Seasonal laundry facilities are available near the Park Office. ADA-accessible sites can be reserved. Beyond camping, the park offers hiking and biking trails, boating access, fishing, museums, picnic pavilions, and playgrounds. Reservations are available up to one year in advance through the Tennessee State Parks reservation system. Maximum stay is 14 days (extended to 28 days from December 1 through February). Check-in time is 4:00 PM and check-out is 12:00 PM. Quiet hours are observed from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
