Panther Creek State Park Campground sits on the shores of Cherokee Reservoir in northeastern Tennessee, offering 50 developed campsites arranged on a loop with easy access to over 30 miles of hiking trails. All campsites feature water and electrical hookups with 20, 30, and 50-amp service, along with picnic tables, grills, and fire rings. Eight sites offer the convenience of full hookups with sewer connections. The campground includes two bathhouse facilities with hot showers and flush toilets, a year-round laundromat, and a dump station for self-contained rigs. A small camp store at the bottom of the campground offers firewood, ice, and basic supplies seasonally from mid-April through October. Limited WiFi is available throughout the campground. The park requires campers to use heat-treated firewood or dead wood collected within the park to prevent the spread of invasive pests like the Emerald Ash Borer. Reservations can be made up to one year in advance through the Tennessee State Parks reservation system with a non-refundable $5 fee per site. The maximum stay is 14 consecutive days. Campers have access to all park amenities including swimming, fishing, boating on the reservoir, disc golf, and an extensive trail system suitable for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding.

Directions

From I-40 East, take Exit 394 (Hwy. 11E North) and travel approximately 35 miles to Morristown. From I-81, take Exit 12 (Hwy. 160), head north to Hwy. 11E, turn right, then take the next left; the park is about 2.5 miles on the right. From Gatlinburg, take I-40 East to Exit 417 (Hwy. 92), travel toward Jefferson City, turn right onto Hwy. 11E North, and proceed to Morristown and Panther Creek State Park.
