Wildcat Cabin is a historic U.S. Forest Service guard station located in the remote northeastern Nevada mountains within the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. Situated at approximately 7,369 feet elevation in Elko County, the cabin lies in the Marys River Basin area managed by the Mountain City-Ruby Mountains-Jarbidge Ranger District. The Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest spans over 6.3 million acres, making it the largest national forest in the contiguous United States. The forest is comprised of non-contiguous sections scattered across Nevada and eastern California. This remote location offers solitude and access to the high desert and mountain landscapes characteristic of the Great Basin region.
Directions
From Elko, Nevada, take State Route 225 north to the Charleston Road, then follow signs to Jarbidge. Alternatively, from Twin Falls, Idaho, take Highway 93 south to Rogerson, then head west to Murphy's Hot Springs and continue to Jarbidge.
