About
Lower Bluster Campground is a small, minimally developed campground located in the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, approximately 3.5 miles south of the remote town of Jarbidge, Nevada. At 6,500 feet elevation, this free campground offers basic amenities including vault toilets and picnic tables, though campers must bring their own water as none is available on-site. The campground serves as a base for exploring the rugged Jarbidge Wilderness Area and surrounding forest lands. Recreation opportunities include fishing in nearby streams, mountain biking, road cycling, OHV riding on designated routes, hiking, backpacking, and swimming. The remote location and minimal development attract campers seeking a more primitive experience away from crowds. Dogs are permitted but must be kept on leash in the campground. The area experiences moderate use during the open season. Pack animals are allowed at the site, making it suitable for equestrian camping trips into the backcountry.
