Upper Bluster Campground
The campground typically opens in June and closes in October, depending on weather and road conditions. As of late May, it may still be closed due to lingering snow or muddy access roads. No reservations are accepted; all sites are first-come, first-served.
About
Upper Bluster Campground sits along the Jarbidge River in one of Nevada's most isolated corners. The campground is extremely primitive, with no developed water source, and campers should bring all water and supplies. The nearest vault toilet is at Lower Bluster or Pine Creek Campground rather than on-site. The area is surrounded by rugged mountains and offers direct access to the Jarbidge Wilderness. The Jarbidge area provides opportunities for backpacking, day hiking, fishing in the river, OHV riding on nearby roads, and mountain biking. Wildlife sightings are common in this undeveloped region. There is no cell service anywhere near the campground. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservation system. All camping in the Jarbidge area is free. Access requires travel on unpaved roads that can become impassable during wet weather or early in the season before snow melts.
Directions
Located approximately 3.5 miles south of the town of Jarbidge, Nevada, via unpaved forest roads. Access roads may be impassable during wet conditions or early season snow.
