About

Wild River Group Campground is part of Wild River State Park, which stretches along 18 miles of the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway in Chisago County, Minnesota. The group camping area features 10 individual sites numbered GC1 through GC10, each capable of hosting groups of up to 18 people. Sites are equipped with picnic tables and fire rings with grills, making them well-suited for family reunions, Scout troops, youth groups, and other organized gatherings. The group campground provides access to potable water and primitive vault toilets. Modern shower facilities are not available in the group camping area. Pets are permitted but must remain leashed and attended at all times. Campers must use approved firewood to prevent the spread of invasive species. Wild River State Park offers extensive recreational opportunities including hiking, horseback riding, canoeing, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing. The park also features a historic guesthouse and camping cabins for those seeking more developed accommodations. Reservations can be made up to 120 days in advance through the Minnesota DNR reservation system.

Directions

From I-35, take State Highway 95 to County Road 12. Drive 3 miles on County Road 12 to the park entrance. Do not rely on GPS to find the main entrance, as GPS units may direct you to the Sunrise Landing area rather than the main park entrance.
