About

Interstate North Campground occupies a prime location within Interstate State Park on the banks of the St. Croix River, part of the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway. The park is Wisconsin's oldest, established in 1900, and showcases the dramatic Dalles of the St. Croix, a steep-sided gorge carved by glacial meltwater. The North Campground features 40 sites, with 34 offering 30-amp electric hookups. Two sites (23 and 24) are walk-to tent sites, and one site is ADA accessible. Amenities include both flush and vault toilets, hot showers for registered campers, potable water, and trash collection. A dump station is located across from the Ice Age Interpretive Center, which also sells firewood, ice, and basic supplies. The campground serves as a base for exploring the park's extensive trail system, including segments of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail. Rock climbing, kayaking on the St. Croix, and visiting the park's famous potholes are popular activities. The Ice Age Interpretive Center provides exhibits on Wisconsin's glacial history.
