Wilbur D. Mills Campground is a small, peaceful U.S. Army Corps of Engineers campground located on the right descending bank of the Arkansas River, one mile downstream from Wilbur D. Mills Dam. All 21 campsites include electric and water hookups, with 17 sites available for reservation through Recreation.gov and four first-come, first-served. The campground includes one ADA-accessible site. Facilities include flush toilets, hot showers, a dump station, drinking water, and trash service. The waters below Wilbur D. Mills Dam offer excellent fishing opportunities for Blue, Channel, and Flathead catfish, as well as crappie, white bass, striped bass, and hybrids. Hiking, hunting, and birding are also popular activities in the surrounding bottomland hardwoods. The area supports diverse wildlife including Federally Endangered Least Terns that nest on nearby sandbars. Nearby attractions include Arkansas Post National Memorial (the first European settlement west of the Mississippi), Arkansas Post State Park, Trusten Holder Wildlife Management Area, and the 160,000-acre Dale Bumpers White River National Wildlife Refuge.

Directions

From Dumas, Arkansas, travel north on US-165 for 9 miles to State Route 212. Turn right and continue 4 miles east, through Pendleton Bend Park, to the campground.
