About

Leroy Percy State Park, established as Mississippi's oldest state park, sits in the heart of the Mississippi Delta near Hollandale. The park is characterized by artesian springs, towering cypress trees, and ancient oaks draped in Spanish moss. At its center lies Alligator Lake, home to native alligators and well-stocked with bream, catfish, and bass. The developed campground offers 16 RV sites, each equipped with water, sewer, and electric hookups. A separate wooded area near the developed campground provides sites suitable for tent camping with picnic tables and bathhouse access. Hot showers and laundry facilities serve all overnight guests. The park also features eight vacation cabins with air conditioning, heating, and basic kitchen equipment, plus a group dormitory accommodating up to 44 people. Recreational opportunities include the Alligator Lake Trail winding through delta hardwood forest habitat, a disc golf course affiliated with the Southern National Disc Golf Association, a boat launch, 30 picnic sites with views of the lake, and playgrounds. Leroy Percy is one of two Mississippi state parks featuring a wildlife management area, offering seasonal hunting for deer (primitive weapons only), squirrel, duck, and dove under park-specific regulations.
