About

Delta Heritage Trail State Park preserves a former Missouri Pacific Railroad corridor, converting it into a multi-use trail through the agricultural heartland of the Arkansas Delta. The park's campground consists of five primitive walk-in sites situated at the Barton trailhead, where the visitor center provides trip planning assistance, interpretive programming, and bicycle rentals for those wanting to explore the trail without their own gear. The campsites are designated Class D primitive sites with no hookups. Each site features a tent pad, picnic table, and standing grill. Campers share a community water spigot and have access to 24-hour restrooms, though no showers are available on-site. The visitor center gift shop and bicycle repair station round out the facilities. The trail itself offers a flat, accessible route through farmland, passing through small Delta communities and offering glimpses into the region's agricultural heritage and railroad history. The experience is suited to campers seeking a simple overnight base while cycling or walking the trail.
