Open for camping with sites available through Recreation.gov. Standard sites are also available first-come, first-served. Check-in is 4 p.m., check-out is 2 p.m. Camp host on duty 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Note: Poisonous snakes are found in the area.
About
Rising Star Campground sits along the Arkansas River at Pool 3 Lock and Dam, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Located about 12 miles south of Pine Bluff in the Arkansas River Delta, the campground offers 25 sites equipped with 20/30/50 amp electric and water hookups. Sites accommodate RVs up to 74 feet with back-in access on paved driveways. Facilities include flush restrooms with hot showers, an RV dump station, playground, group shelter, and boat launch. The campground is ADA accessible. Fishing is excellent here, with catfish in the tailwaters of Joe Hardin Lock and Dam and Emmitt Sanders Lock and Dam, plus bass, crappie, and bream throughout Pool 3. Duck hunting is available on the waterways, and hunting opportunities exist in nearby forests. The park also features a Trail of Tears exhibit focusing on steam technology and Indian Removal history. Nearby Pine Bluff offers the Arkansas Railroad Museum, Delta Rivers Nature Center, and Martha Mitchell Home.
Directions
From Pine Bluff, Arkansas, take U.S. Highway 65 south for 7.8 miles to Linwood. Turn left on Blankinship Road, drive 3.5 miles and follow the signs for Rising Star Campground.
