Notrebes Bend Park

Closed

The campground is closed for the off-season. Typical operating season runs late February through late October. Reservations are handled through Recreation.gov.

About

Notrebes Bend Park sits on the left descending bank of the Arkansas River immediately below Wilbur D. Mills Dam in Arkansas County. The campground features 30 campsites equipped with 50-amp electric hookups, drinking water, and fire rings, with 24 sites available for reservation through Recreation.gov. A comfort station provides flush restrooms and hot showers, and the park includes a dump station and trash service. The location draws anglers targeting the dam's tailwaters, which hold largemouth bass, crappie, bream, and particularly abundant catfish. A boat ramp provides direct river access. The Arkansas River below the dam meanders 26 miles before meeting the Mississippi River, and the area sits along the Mississippi Flyway migration corridor. Nearby attractions include Arkansas Post National Memorial, marking the first European settlement west of the Mississippi River established in 1686, and the Dale Bumpers White River National Wildlife Refuge. No swimming, wading, or diving is permitted in the Arkansas River due to water level fluctuations from dam operations.
