About

Located on the southwestern side of Osceola National Forest, Wiggins Day Use Area is a primitive recreation site centered around a 2-acre fishing pond. The area offers basic facilities for fishing and picnicking under the pines. During general gun season (mid-November to early January), the adjacent hunt camp serves as one of the designated primitive camping areas in the forest, providing access to the surrounding forest road network for walking and off-highway vehicle riding in the off-season. The site exemplifies the primitive, undeveloped character of many Osceola National Forest recreation areas, offering visitors a chance to experience natural Florida in a secluded setting. Visitors should be self-sufficient as no amenities are provided.
