About
Hog Pen Landing offers a primitive camping experience on the northwest shore of Ocean Pond in Osceola National Forest. Spanish moss sways overhead at quiet waterfront campsites where visitors might spot great blue herons fishing. The boat ramp provides easy access to Ocean Pond, a two-mile wide natural Florida lake popular for fishing, boating, and water-skiing. This area functions as a hunt camp during hunting season and attracts anglers, boaters, and hunters year-round. The Great Florida Birding Trail and Florida National Scenic Trail pass nearby. Located just miles from Olustee Battlefield State Park, site of Florida's largest Civil War battle in 1864, the campground offers a convenient base for exploring both natural and historical attractions. As a primitive facility, campers should come prepared. No potable water is available on-site, so visitors must bring their own drinking water. Vault toilets are provided. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Payment is by cash or check only.
