Turkey Run Trailhead is a primitive access point for the Florida National Scenic Trail in the northwest corner of Osceola National Forest in Columbia County, Florida. The site features an open-sided camp shelter and information kiosk, serving backpackers hiking the FNST. The 11.4-mile trail segment from Turkey Run to Deep Creek offers contrasts between pine flatwoods and bogs, with possible wading after heavy rains. This is strictly a primitive backcountry facility with no developed amenities. There is no drinking water, no restrooms, and no fee to camp. Dispersed camping is permitted anywhere in Osceola National Forest except Olustee Beach. During general gun deer season, camping is restricted to designated sites only. Backpackers must pack out all trash and bury human waste at least 6 inches deep and 100 feet from any water source. A 14-day per month stay limit applies throughout the National Forests in Florida.
