Special Weather Statement issued May 3 at 2:50AM EDT by NWS Jacksonville FL
Patchy to areas of locally dense fog have developed across portions of inland southeast Georgia and northern portions of the Suwannee Valley overnight. This fog may expand somewhat across the rest of the Suwannee Valley through around sunrise. Visibilities may occasionally be reduced below one half mile for these locations through the early morning hours on Sunday. Motorists overnight and early on Sunday morning should remain alert for sudden changes in visibility, especially in low spots and near marshes, rivers, creeks or lakes. If driving, slow down and leave extra distance ahead of you in case a sudden stop is needed.
About
Group Landing is a secluded group camping facility on the shore of Ocean Pond within the Olustee Experimental Forest area of Osceola National Forest. This reservation-only site offers a flexible space for family camping trips, company picnics, and small group gatherings, accommodating up to 50 overnight guests or 75 for day use. The facility includes four campsites with water and electric hookups, an accessible bathhouse with hot showers and flush toilets, potable water, bear-proof garbage cans, picnic tables, a large grill, and a fire pit. A large picnic shelter provides covered space for group activities. The private sand beach offers excellent swimming and easy shore launching for small boats, canoes, and kayaks.
