Whitten Park Picnic Shelters is a day use facility located on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway in Fulton, Mississippi. The park offers two large picnic shelters equipped with electricity, perfect for group gatherings and events. Visitors have access to a bathroom facility, though it closes seasonally from November 15 through March 1.
The facility provides excellent recreational opportunities including basketball and tennis courts, an 18-hole disc golf course, playground equipment, and hiking trails. The location on the Tenn-Tom Waterway offers proximity to boat ramps, fishing access, and the waterway's 180,000 acres of public land.
The Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway is a 234-mile man-made waterway connecting the Tennessee River to the Tombigbee River in Alabama, providing a link between the nation's midsection and the Gulf of Mexico. Whitten Park serves as an excellent base for exploring this historic waterway, with nearby attractions including Whitten Campground, Fulton Boat Ramp, and the city of Fulton.
Directions
From the intersection of US 78 and MS 25, go north on MS 25 for 200 yards, then turn north on Access Road for 4.5 miles. The campground is on the left side of the road within the Jamie L. Whitten Historical Center and Park.
