About
Situated on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway in northeast Mississippi, Whitten Park Campground draws anglers, boaters, and families seeking waterfront recreation. The campground is part of the Jamie L. Whitten Historical Center Park and offers direct access to bass and crappie fishing via three boat docks and a fishing pier. A sandy swimming beach with a gazebo overlook provides a scenic spot for relaxing. The 60 sites are distributed across three loops with paved pads and electric/water hookups. Each loop has its own climate-controlled bathhouse with flush toilets, hot showers, and laundry facilities. Sites range from shaded forest settings to lakefront spots with full sun. The campground also features an 18-hole disc golf course, nature trails, and playgrounds for families. Whitten Park is about 15 miles east of Tupelo, birthplace of Elvis Presley, making it a convenient base for exploring the region. Reservations are required and must be made through Recreation.gov.
