* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of North Mississippi, including the following areas, Alcorn, Benton MS, Calhoun, Chickasaw, Itawamba, Lafayette, Lee MS, Marshall, Monroe, Pontotoc, Prentiss, Tippah, Tishomingo, Union and Yalobusha and West Tennessee, including the following areas, Benton TN, Carroll, Chester, Crockett, Decatur, Fayette, Gibson, Hardeman, Hardin, Haywood, Henderson, Madison and McNairy. * WHEN...Through Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - The eventual remnants of Hurricane Isaias will trek north impacting portions of the Mid-South. Based on the latest guidance, the heaviest rainfall will likely fall across portions of northeast Mississippi into some areas of West Tennessee. * LOCATIONS AFFECTED - Tupelo * WIND - LATEST LOCAL FORECAST: Below tropical storm force wind - Peak Wind Forecast: 15-25 mph with gusts to 45 mph - THREAT TO LIFE AND PROPERTY THAT INCLUDES TYPICAL FORECAST UNCERTAINTY IN TRACK, SIZE AND INTENSITY: Potential for wind 39 to 57 mph - The wind threat has remained nearly steady from the previous assessment. - PLAN: Plan for hazardous wind of equivalent tropical storm force. - PREPARE: Efforts to protect property should now be underway. Prepare for limited wind damage. - ACT: Act now to complete preparations before the wind becomes hazardous. - POTENTIAL IMPACTS: Limited - Damage to porches, awnings, carports, sheds, and unanchored mobile homes. Unsecured lightweight objects blown about. - Many large tree limbs broken off. A few trees snapped or uprooted, but with greater numbers in places where trees are shallow rooted. Some fences and roadway signs blown over. - A few roads impassable from debris, particularly within urban or heavily wooded places. HLSMEG This product covers Mid-South **ISAIAS WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE NORTH OVERNIGHT** NEW INFORMATION --------------- * CHANGES TO WATCHES AND WARNINGS: - None * CURRENT WATCHES AND WARNINGS: - A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for Chickasaw, Itawamba, Lee MS, and Monroe * STORM INFORMATION: - About 270 miles south-southeast of Tupelo MS - 30.8N 86.5W - Storm Intensity 90 mph - Movement North or 5 degrees at 20 mph SITUATION OVERVIEW ------------------ Hurricane Isaias made landfall around 8:30 PM CDT this evening near Destin, FL. Isaias is expected to continue to move inland through Saturday, bringing gusty winds and heavy rainfall across the Mid-South. Four counties in the Mid-South remain in a Tropical Storm Warning through Saturday afternoon with wind gusts of 45 to 50 mph. These areas could see up to 3" of rainfall. POTENTIAL IMPACTS ----------------- * WIND: Protect against hazardous wind having possible limited impacts across northeast Mississippi. About
Tombigbee State Park Campground is a well-maintained facility located six miles south of Tupelo in northeast Mississippi. The campground features 20 paved sites suitable for RVs or tents, arranged in a loop configuration. All sites are equipped with electric and water hookups, and 18 of the 20 sites also include sewer connections. Each campsite has a picnic table, grill, and fire ring. The campground amenities include a heated and air-conditioned bathhouse with hot showers and coin-operated laundry facilities. A separate comfort station provides additional restroom access. A dump station is available on the main park road for RV users. The park also offers primitive tent camping and seven rental cabins for those seeking alternatives to RV camping. Lake Lee, a 90-acre lake stocked with bass, bream, and catfish, provides excellent fishing opportunities. Other recreational activities include an 11-mile mountain bike trail, disc golf course, nature trails, volleyball, and playground facilities. The park is pet-friendly with leash requirements.
