About

Jamie L. Whitten Campground occupies a scenic stretch of the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway near Fulton, Mississippi. Named after the longtime U.S. Representative from Mississippi, the campground provides easy access to the 234-mile waterway connecting the Tennessee River to the Tombigbee River. The facility features 60 paved sites with 50-amp electric and water hookups spread across three loops, accommodating RVs and trailers up to 51 feet. The waterfront location is ideal for anglers pursuing bass and crappie, with three boat docks providing direct water access. Beyond fishing, visitors can enjoy a sandy swimming beach with a gazebo overlooking the waterway, nature trails, playgrounds, and an 18-hole disc golf course adjacent to the campground. The Jamie L. Whitten Historical Center sits nearby, offering exhibits on the waterway's history and construction. Reservations are required through Recreation.gov, with no gatehouse transactions accepted. Check-in is at 4:00 PM and check-out at 3:00 PM. Stays are limited to 14 consecutive nights, with no extensions permitted between Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends.
