About

Whitten Park Campground, also known as Fulton Campground, is a popular destination on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The campground offers 60 sites with electric and water hookups spread across three loops, providing convenient access to playgrounds and shower facilities. Located within the Jamie L. Whitten Historical Center Park, this recreation area attracts thousands of visitors annually for camping, fishing, and water recreation. The campground features outstanding amenities including three boat docks, a sandy swimming beach with a gazebo overlooking the waterway, multiple nature trails through wooded wildlife habitats, and a fishing dock. Anglers can pursue bass and crappie both from shore and by boat. Additional recreational opportunities include disc golf and exploring the nearby historical center with its nature trails and interpretive displays. The Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway is a 234-mile man-made waterway connecting the Tennessee River to the Tombigbee River in Alabama, linking commercial water transportation with the Gulf of Mexico. The campground's location near Fulton places visitors just 15 miles from Tupelo, Mississippi, the birthplace of Elvis Presley, making it an ideal base for both waterway recreation and regional exploration.
