About
West Damsite Day Use Area is located on Bay Springs Lake, part of the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway system managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. This picnic area offers three reservable shelters (identified as Mulberry, Red Bud, and Dogwood), making it ideal for family gatherings and group events. A playground provides recreation for children, and bathroom facilities are available on-site.
The Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway is a remarkable 234-mile artificial waterway connecting the Tennessee River to the Tombigbee River in Alabama, ultimately providing access to the Gulf of Mexico. Known as the largest earth-moving project in world history, the Tenn-Tom Waterway encompasses 180,000 acres of public land. Bay Springs Lake is one of several impoundments along this waterway.
Visitors to West Damsite can enjoy fishing, picnicking, and playground activities. The location provides convenient access to Bay Springs Lake and is near other recreational facilities including Bay Springs Marina, West Damsite Boat Ramp, Old Bridge Beach, and Piney Grove Campground.
