Piney Grove Beach Picnic Shelter sits on Bay Springs Lake, part of the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway in northeastern Mississippi. This day-use recreation facility offers families a convenient base for water-based activities and outdoor recreation. The shelter includes one small pavilion equipped with 4 picnic tables and 4 large grills, making it suitable for group gatherings and picnics. The facility provides direct access to Bay Springs Lake for swimming at a designated beach area. Additional recreational amenities include volleyball and basketball courts for active recreation, and fishing access to the lake. The Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway, which extends 234 miles from the Tennessee River to the junction of the Tombigbee River in Alabama, is a man-made waterway that connects the nation's midsection to the Gulf of Mexico. The Tenn-Tom Waterway encompasses 180,000 acres of public land for outdoor exploration. Piney Grove Beach Picnic Shelter is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and operates as a day-use area with operating hours from 9am to 8pm during the season. A day-use fee is required upon arrival. Pets are not allowed at this facility.
