Amory Boat Ramp Picnic Shelter is a day-use recreation area located on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway in Amory, Mississippi. The facility features a covered picnic shelter with 8 picnic tables and 2 grills, ideal for group gatherings and outdoor meals. A 2-lane boat ramp and courtesy dock provide boating access to the Tenn-Tom Waterway, which extends 234 miles from the Tennessee River to the junction of the Tombigbee River in Alabama.
The Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway is a man-made waterway that connects the nation's midsection commercial water transportation with the Gulf of Mexico. Known as the largest earth-moving project in world history, the Tenn-Tom Waterway encompasses 180,000 acres of public land. The area offers excellent opportunities for picnicking, boating, and fishing. This location is unstaffed and operates on a first-come, first-served basis.
Directions
From Highway 45 in Aberdeen, Mississippi, travel to the intersection of Commerce and Meridian Streets in the downtown area. From Commerce, turn north on Meridian and cross a railroad track and a bridge. The recreation area is the first right turn after the bridge.
