About

Fisherman's Point Campground is a well-maintained municipal campground located on a wooded peninsula of Whitewater Lake in northern Minnesota, just two miles from downtown Hoyt Lakes. The campground offers 93 secluded campsites in a natural setting, with the majority featuring electric hookups. Sites are distributed between lakefront locations with direct water access and more private wooded interior sites, all designed to provide campers with a peaceful, nature-focused experience. While individual sites do not have water or sewer hookups, the campground provides a filtered city water fill station and dump station available free of charge to all campers. Modern amenities include shower houses, flush toilets, coin-operated laundry facilities, and a campground office. The property features a fishing pier and boat launch, providing excellent access to Whitewater Lake's outstanding fishing opportunities for species including walleye, northern pike, crappie, perch, and bass. The campground serves as a gateway to extensive outdoor recreation opportunities. Miles of paved biking trails and hiking paths connect throughout the area, and the campground is located near the Superior National Forest Scenic Byway. The facility operates seasonally with full amenities from late April through late September, with limited off-season camping available through October. Operated by the City of Hoyt Lakes, Fisherman's Point is particularly popular with families and anglers seeking a well-equipped base camp for exploring Minnesota's Iron Range region.
