About

Bear Head Lake State Park's five camper cabins provide a comfortable year-round lodging option in Minnesota's Northwoods. Each 12x16-foot wooden cabin includes bunk beds with mattresses accommodating up to six people, a table with benches, screened porch, electric outlets, and heat for cooler months. The cabins are situated near docks in the north bay of Bear Head Lake, offering convenient access to fishing for walleye, northern pike, and bass. The park features two designated trout lakes (Norberg and Cub), a sandy swimming beach, boat launch, fish cleaning shack, and over 17 miles of hiking trails including the scenic Blueberry Lake route. Winter visitors can enjoy 5.5 miles of groomed cross-country ski trails, snowshoeing, and ice fishing with free equipment rentals from the park office. Camper cabins do not have indoor plumbing. Comfort stations with flush toilets and hot showers operate from May through September. Vault toilets remain available year-round. Cooking inside cabins is limited to crockpots and coffeepots; outdoor cooking is done over the fire ring. Only approved firewood is permitted.
