The Bear Head Lake Guest House at Bear Head Lake State Park is a modern two-story split-level home with a basement, offering comfortable year-round lodging in Minnesota's Northwoods. The house features three bedrooms (one with a full bed, two with twin beds), two bathrooms, two sleeper sofas with full beds, and can accommodate up to 10 people. With a fully-equipped kitchen, great dining area, and two living spaces, it provides all the comforts of home in a pristine wilderness setting. Located just feet from Bear Head Lake's shores, the guest house offers immediate access to excellent fishing for walleye, bass, crappies, and trout. The outdoor spaces include a yard with a firepit, patio with furniture, picnic tables, a grill, and trails leading to the lake. The park's secluded location just south of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness provides opportunities to see black bears, nesting eagles, wolves, and moose among towering stands of white and red pine. The guest house serves as an ideal base for year-round recreation, from swimming, hiking, and paddling in summer to cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and ice fishing in winter. From Ely, Minnesota, take Highway 169 east for 9 miles, then turn south onto County Road 128 and continue for 7 miles to reach Bear Head Lake State Park.
