About

Whitetail Ridge Campground is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers facility on the western shore of West Point Lake in Troup County, Georgia. The 25,900-acre lake stretches 35 miles along the Chattahoochee River at the Georgia-Alabama border, surrounded by rolling fields and deep forests known for outstanding fall foliage. All 58 campsites include electric (30 amp) and water hookups with paved back-in driveways accommodating RVs and trailers up to 35 feet. The campground provides modern amenities including hot showers, laundry facilities, and a dump station. Sites accommodate up to 8 people and 4 vehicles. Campfires are permitted at individual sites. Pets are welcome but must be leashed (6 feet max) or caged at all times. West Point Lake offers exceptional recreational opportunities. The lake supports bass, catfish, crappie, and bream fishing, with 34 boat ramps throughout the recreation area. Mountain biking trails including the Lakeside Trail wind through the landscape. A nearly 10,000-acre wildlife management area at the upper lake provides hunting opportunities.
