About
Veasey Creek Park is a day-use recreation area located on West Point Lake in Chambers County, Alabama, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The park serves primarily as a picnic and boat launch facility rather than an overnight campground. It features two group picnic shelters that can be reserved in advance through Recreation.gov, along with numerous individual picnic sites available on a first-come, first-served basis. The park's main attraction is its boat launch, which provides convenient water access for anglers and boaters looking to explore Veasey Creek and Stroud Creek. The location is unstaffed, and parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. West Point Lake is known for its fishing opportunities and recreational boating. Visitors should note that this is a day-use facility without overnight camping capabilities. The park has basic amenities including picnic areas and trash disposal. Pets are allowed but must be kept on leashes no longer than six feet. Special event permits may be required for large gatherings such as weddings or fishing tournaments.
Directions
Take Alabama County Road 266 approximately six miles north of West Point to the T-intersection. Turn left and watch for Veasey Creek Park signs. Turn right and follow the road to the boat ramp then turn left. The shelter is on the right.
