About

Horace King Park is a day-use recreation area managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at West Point Lake near LaGrange, Georgia. The park provides convenient access to the reservoir and upper rivers and creeks along the Chattahoochee River. Facilities include a boat launch with a $5 day-use fee, fishing docks, picnic areas, and two reservable group shelters that accommodate up to 30 people each. The shelters are non-electric and available for day-use reservations with 9 AM check-in and 9 PM check-out. The park has ADA accessible facilities and allows leashed pets. This is a day-use area only with no overnight camping. Campers seeking overnight accommodations should look at other West Point Lake campgrounds such as Amity, Whitetail Ridge, or R. Shaefer Heard.

Directions

Take Georgia Highway 109 approximately seven miles west of LaGrange. After crossing Wade Milam Bridge over West Point Lake, watch for the signs to enter the park on the left. After turning off 109, bear right and follow the road to the shelter.
