About
Holiday Campground occupies a scenic peninsula on the western shore of West Point Lake, a 25,900-acre reservoir formed by damming the Chattahoochee River along the Georgia-Alabama state line. Managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the campground offers 112 individual sites and two group camping areas beneath a canopy of mixed forest that displays outstanding fall foliage. Site options include primitive tent-only spots, standard non-electric sites, and electric sites with either 30-amp or 50-amp service plus water hookups. Two bathhouses provide flush toilets and hot showers, and a dump station serves RV campers. Additional facilities include laundry rooms, a playground, basketball and tennis courts, and a swimming area. The Lakeside Trail passes nearby for hiking and mountain biking. West Point Lake ranks among the top bass fishing destinations in the Southeast, with crappie, catfish, and bream also abundant. Bank fishing is available at nearby public piers, and 34 boat ramps around the lake provide easy water access. Gates are locked from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. Check-in is guaranteed after 4 p.m. and checkout is 3 p.m. A four-vehicle limit applies per site, and only credit or debit card payments are accepted on-site. Reservations are handled through Recreation.gov.
