Amity Campground occupies a forested peninsula on the western shore of West Point Lake, a 25,900-acre impoundment along the Chattahoochee River at the Alabama-Georgia state line. The lake's 525 miles of shoreline and 40+ square miles of water provide prime habitat for largemouth bass, catfish, crappie, and bream, making it a popular destination for anglers. Boat ramps throughout the recreation area, including one at Amity, offer easy lake access. The campground has 75 reservable sites spread across multiple loops. Most sites feature 30-amp electric and water hookups with paved back-in driveways capable of accommodating RVs and trailers up to 55 feet. A smaller number of lakefront tent-only sites are available for campers seeking a more primitive experience. Facilities include restrooms with flush toilets, hot showers, a dump station, and laundry. Beyond fishing and boating, the area offers hiking and mountain biking on the Lakeside Trail, and a nearly 10,000-acre wildlife management area at the upper end of the lake provides habitat for diverse species. The campground itself has a playground, basketball court, and tennis court for additional recreation.

Directions

From West Point, Georgia, travel north on Stateline Road/County Road 212 for approximately 7 miles. Watch for the campground sign on the right. Turn right onto County Road 393, which leads directly to the campground entrance.
