About

McGee Bridge Park is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers day-use recreation area situated on West Point Lake near LaGrange, Georgia. The park is particularly popular with anglers as it features one of only three public fishing piers on the 25,900-acre lake, known for excellent bass, catfish, crappie, and bream fishing. The park offers a reservable group shelter that can accommodate up to 30 people, located near the fishing pier with lakefront access. Additional amenities include picnic sites and a boat launch facility for easy lake access. The location is unstaffed, and parking operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Visitors can enjoy fishing from the pier or boat launch, picnicking, and general lakefront recreation. The park maintains basic day-use facilities and requires pets to be leashed. Special event permits may be required for large gatherings such as weddings or fishing tournaments. The facility is easily accessible from Route 109 via Vernon Ferry Road and Old Roanoke Road.
