About

White Pines Group Campground is one of two group campsites nestled along Avery Creek in the lush forests of the Appalachian Mountains in Pisgah National Forest. The campground sits at an elevation of 2,600 feet and is surrounded by mile-high peaks, cascading waterfalls, and slopes thickly forested with hardwoods. The group camping area is adjacent to Avery Creek and near the beautiful Davidson River. This walk-in, tent-only facility accommodates groups of up to 25 people, making it ideal for families, scout troops, and other organized groups. Parking is provided, but all camping gear must be carried to the site across a bridge. The site is equipped with picnic tables, vault toilets, lantern posts, and campfire rings with grills. Visitors have access to excellent recreation opportunities, including hiking and mountain biking on nearby trails, trout fishing in Avery Creek and the Davidson River, and swimming. The campground is operated year-round by Naventure and is located near Davidson River Campground, which serves as a hub for group site visitors. Campers must pack out all trash.
